Mass Effect is a great looking game, but yes, let's compare.

Three of the ones that you mentioned are just going for that look I believe: MGS4, Heavenly...
Hard to tell from images, but looks identical to the images and footage released thus far. Hopefully High Res scans will surface soon, or we can always wait for the playable videos from TGS to surface.
Not surprising, but I don't think that this recall would be happening if it weren't for the other Sony recall. My mother in law has a Compaq laptop and the battery life is very low compared to what it was. Like it or not, battery capacity tends to go down over time.
Apple should recall all of their Ipod batteries which go crap after 6 months. Mine has markedly lower batter life than when it was given to me at Christmas.
The PSP title is called Killzone: Liberation, so the PS3 title is probably just called Killzone PS3 for the time being until they decide to release the name. Killzone "3" would be more appropriate for the time being as a nickname than Killzone "2", but I'm pretty sure that it won't have a number in it for the final release.
These are probably just regular postings, I think someone asked the Killzone devs about this a while back on their message boards and t...
Actually, that's incorrect. The $499 model of the PS3 will still support native 1080p, you just won't have the HDMI outputs, you'll have to do it through component like the Xbox 360. The main difference between the two will now be if Xbox 360 will have any games released that support native 1080p such as the Playstation 3 will have upon it's launch. Kudos to MS for finally making upscaling to 1080p possible.
Yes, talk about overpromising and underdelivering, Peter Molyneaux is the king of that.
Zypher, great posts above, as always. Thorougly agreed, this game will probably be coming to PS3, it's just a matter of time before the information is officially released by the studio.
It's a slap in the face if you don't care about HD movies. I do, therefore this would be great if it's true. Free products, regardless of if they have to do with gaming, are still free. They're both designed to hook you into buying more of them.
This one is actually looking pretty entertaining. Interesting thing I noticed on the site, it's going to support true high-definition formats up to 720p. So it will be 720p native, upscaled to 1080p if your tv supports it.
It's great that MS fans think that this is CGI, at least you think it looks too good to be in game. Do you believe the below shots are in game or CGI? They don't have a HUD and are not from a first person (or in car on the last ones) perspective, therefore they MUST be CGI.. right?

At TGS, 27 playable games.
Does MS giving Xbox 360 owners a free month of Xbox Live show that they think it is a failure? No, they are trying to introduce you to their product and get you hooked so you will buy more. It's the same case with this, if it is true, it would be an excellent scenario of Sony showing the customers their new format and hopefully getting them to purchase more of their product which they, and many other companies, have a vested interest in.
I agree with both of you actually. The $600 is ridiculous, when you're coming from a PS2 that you can buy for what $129, or Gamecube for around the same. Then there's the XBox 360 that is $399, versus the $599 PS3. It is sticker shock for a lot of people when they first hear the price. But I agree that Sony needs to show the reason for the higher price and show why they think it is so much better than the competition. I think that the value is there for me, it has wireless internet capab...
I thought this was fairly well established that it's coming out for PS3 as well. It hasn't been officially announced yet though. Maybe Spong has the first confirmation, but then again, Spong is not exactly reliable.
If this is true, this would be a very smart move for Sony to take to introduce early adopters to the Blu-ray movie side of things. I don't see why they wouldn't add in some Sony Pictures movies to get people interested in the format. What would also be smart to do would be to start including UMD's with the Blu-ray releases. If they're trying to tie the PS3 and PSP together, what better way to do it than to include both versions of a movie in one (and not raise the price). Either way, if t...
If you go here, you can see that these are actual PS3 units running the game. Unless you're a conspiracy theorist like theMART, that is. http://www.1up.com/do/previ...
If you want more pictures, I think that PS3land or PS3.qj.net had them. I can't look at either of those sites at work unfortunately.
When you go, be sure and post what you're getting daily, if that's a possibility. If you contact Playsyde.com, they might use your footage as well. I can't wait to see new footage of all the games.
Try gametrailers.com, I saw some recent videos on there a few days ago.
Have you ever seen Black Hawk Down, Saving Private Ryan, Kingdom of Heaven, or any of the Lord of the Rings movies? What do all of these have in common? They all use filters heavily. If you don't like them, don't watch them. If you don't like the games because of the choice of filters, then don't buy them. It's as simple as that. To say they look bad is subjective, I and many others think they look great. Maybe you think they'd look better if they were all using Unreal Engine and had p...
